As an employer you do not have to give the time off on a bank or public holiday or at Christmas if they’re not included in the holiday entitlement. This is the same whether they work full time or part time.
This should be stated in the employment contract to find out if bank holidays are included in paid holiday entitlement.
Employees should arrange their holiday dates with the employer as early as possible.
As an employer, you should:
tell your employees the organisation’s rules for bank holidays, especially if they’re new, or they’re changing from full-time work to part-time or shift work
regularly discuss with them how upcoming business closures or busy periods might affect holidays their plan to take
