Why bookkeeping

My name is Alice Mason, I was born in Prague, The Czech Republic, and I live in Lowton. In summer 2008 I decided to set up a business called “biking bookkeeper” to operate on a part time trial. I still worked for Munro Summers Architects (MSA) on High Street, Newton le Willows as a Practice/Marketing Manager/Bookkeeper/Payroll Clerk full time.

As I had several years worth of experience in bookkeeping/payroll with MSA, and have worked diligently with MSA’s outsourced accountant Jackson Stephen to acquire a vast understanding of the UK accountancy system, I decided to set out to help local businesses and start-ups with their finances.  I love numbers and working with them, but realised there were so many people who hate the idea of spending their valued time monitoring their financial position.

Why biking bookkeeper

The bike allows me to specialise locally and provide excellent services to local business. We cover localy Newton-le-Willows, Lowton, St. Helens, Warrington, Haydock, Golborne, Birchwood, Wigan, Ashton in Makerfield, Hindley, Tyldesley, Atherton, Worsley, Leigh, Culcheth, Croft, Glazebury. We have clients as far as Liverpool and Manchester (might be a bit restricted on the cycling part 🙂 ) etc.. The local community is so neglected these days and the idea of mutually supporting business appeals to me immensely. However these day we cover whole UK and support business from Czech Republic and Slovakia who need to register for VAT for their sales in UK.

I’m passionate about minimizing my impact on the planet. Working out is a great way to make that happen! My goal as an environmentally-conscious service provider is to help people get certified with ISO14001. By combining sustainable living practices with fitness routines, there’s no limit to how much good I can do in making our world healthier – both inside and out!

Let’s not concentrate too much on the bike though, it’s my bookkeeping and the business support services which really count.

Now, after successfully passing exams I became a certified bookkeeper under ICB (Institute of Certified Bookkeepers). I received additional titles to my two Masters so now Ing. Alice Mason, MSc., MICB CB. Cert PM Dip. is not only specialised in Economics and Management (Ing. – Czech Republic), Marketing and Social Sciences (MSc. – the Netherlands) but also bookkeeping, Self Assessment Tax Returns and Payroll Management as an Associate (MICB CB. Cert PM Dip.) with a Practice Licence No. 19992.
